Genius idea #1: Blog about organization. Goodness knows I need it.
Genius idea #2: Blog about Walt Disney World. It's my favorite place. Hands down. I don't care how weird you think that is.

My favorite button so far.
My most recent trip to Disney World was this past June. I'm not sure how many times I've been there. It was my second time with hubster, and it was junior's first trip at 18 months.
I know some people think WDW is a rip-off. And I'm sure many of you think that my obsession is quite strange.
To each their own.
For my first post in this series, I am going to attempt to explain why I love this place so much. And why I don't mind paying out the wazoo to go there.
- Convenience. Tell me if this sounds appealing to you. Not having to park, drive, or be in your car for an entire week. Having the option to pre-pay all of your meals and just show up with a card in hand. Staying in top-of-the line hotels, each with their own specific theme. Having various modes of free transportation at your disposal. Unbelievable pools. I could go on and on. Hands down, WDW can be the most convenient place to travel.
- Entertainment. I don't know how many times I've heard that WDW is for kids. Sure, it's got plenty of attractions geared for little ones. But let me tell you, as an adult, I flippin' love that place. There are endless possibilities for entertainment. Thrill rides, 3-D attractions, kiddie rides, animals, Broadway-esque shows, cultural exhibits, water parks, mini golf, interactive technology, fireworks, parades, and all the restaurant//food possibilities you can imagine. There is always something new. I've been there at least 5 times and still haven't experienced everything there.
- Bubble. When I'm at WDW, I feel like we're in a different world. Our own little, blissful bubble. People are generally happy {except when the tantrums appear at 2:00 in the afternoon}. There's a feeling of excitement//hope//family that I don't often feel at other places. Maybe it's in my head. But I don't know how you can walk down Main Street USA and not feel like a 5 year old at heart.
- Theming. I cannot explain in words the impressive theming that you find in every square inch of WDW. Whether it's the hotels, the rides, the parks, or even the buses, everything has a theme and everything has been designed for your enjoyment. Every time I ride a ride, I notice a detail I hadn't noticed before. I could spend an entire week just walking around the hotels. The accuracy of the details is also note-worthy. Just go to Epcot and explore all the different cultures. Or experience the safari ride at Animal Kingdom. Amazing.
- Flexibility. This word might be a surprise to many WDW enthusiasts who stick to touring plans and rigid schedules while at the parks. I do not. However, my point is, there is no right or wrong way to take a trip to WDW. Each time I go, it feels different. I have gone at a vigorous pace, riding every ride I can, as much as possible. I have also gone with a toddler and his grandparents which means a bigger group, more relaxed pace, and lots of napping breaks. There are endless possiblities when it comes to WDW. It can be a long weekend, a relaxing getaway at the spa, a family reunion, a wedding, a honeymoon, adventurous, laid-back, etc.
I look forward to writing more about my favorite place. I envy the Disney Mom's Panel and other bloggers who get to help people plan their trips to WDW or answer questions about their upcoming vacations.
It's a happy place. And it makes me happy just thinking about it.
It's funny.. most of your thoughts about WDW are the way I feel about going to the campground. I am so in love with it. I am also in love with WDW also, but I have only been there once and would love to go back!
ReplyDeleteJust reading this makes me so happy! I agree with every single one of your points. I've been many times, I'm guessing about 10, and have just loved it at every age. The last time I went was in August and it was such a relaxing vacation. There's literally nothing in the world to worry about- you're right, it feels like a different world! I can't wait to bring my future children there!
ReplyDeleteI have that obsession with Disneyland. I guess for me nothing could compare to the magic of the original. Knowing that Walt Disney himself was there just gives me chills. His family still has an apartment just inside the entrance to the park. :)
ReplyDeleteI love you! Ahem...in a completely non-stalker ish way! I love love love love Disney! I totally get it. We are hoping to go in May, I can't wait. It has been tooooooo long since my last trip. P.S. I have a Disney giveaway on my blog right now! :)
